Hello! My name is April James, and I am looking forward to my 27th year of nursing, and my 9th year of school nursing with Montgomery ISD. I graduated from Texas Tech University with two Bachelor's of Science degrees, one in Exercise Physiology and one in Home Economics, followed by my Associate Degree in Nursing from San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas. Wreck ‘em Tech!

Before I was a school nurse, I worked in Level 1 and Level 3 emergency rooms, surgery centers, and various occupational health settings. I also worked as an exercise therapist at Hermann Hospital Pain Management Clinic and at John Lucas Recovery Center, all in and around the greater Houston area.

My amazing husband and I have been married for 33 years and have two incredible kids. Taylor is a 2021 Lake Creek graduate and is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, and Tate is a freshman at Lake Creek High School. GO LIONS!

Bailey Ledesma

Hello! My name is Bailey Ledesma, and I am so excited to be the Clinic Aide here at Oak Hills! I have been a clinic aide since 2014, starting in Arizona and continuing when we moved here to Texas in 2019. I have been blessed to have worked at a few campus clinics here in MISD, starting at Stewart Creek Elementary and then moving over to Keenan Elementary and now Oak Hills.  

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Educational Studies from Grand Canyon University and start my Master’s Degree Program Spring 2024.   

I have spent my professional career working in the medical field. My background is in the public-school setting as a clinic aide, and the behavioral health sector, and the military health care setting as US Navy Corpsman attached to the Marines in the 4^th Medical Battalion H&S Company. 

In my free time I enjoy raising and showing rabbits and guinea pigs all over the country with my husband and daughter, we are nationally ranked and love to talk all things rabbits and agriculture. I am a crazy cat lady that loves all things animals, Florida Gators, and reality TV.  

I feel blessed to call Montgomery ISD home and work with your kiddos. I am proud to be a Lion and am ready for another great school year!
